TAMIU Sets Tree Lighting Event Dec. 3

Enjoy hot chocolate, snacks, pictures with Santa, Christmas carolling from local schools and goody bags for kids at the Texas A&M International University Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library Front Lawn.

This event is free and open to the public.

Ceremony sponsors, TAMIU’s Campus Activities Board and the TAMIU Student Government, will be accepting donations for Cover Laredo 2008. The public is encouraged to donate jackets, sweaters, blankets, shoes and other winter items.

Choirs from Milton Elementary, Clark Elementary and United High School will sing to fill the air with holiday cheer.

In addition to a nativity scene and lighting, there will be a menorah made by the Congregation Agudas Achim.

The Holiday Tree and lights will remain lit through the first part of January.
