Texas A&M International University’s Purchasing Office will join other city, county and state purchasing agents, prime contractors, supplier diversity representatives, minority business development centers and small businesses at the Small Business Briefing Conference at La Posada Hotel, Feb. 18-19 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Online registration is $40 and available until Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. Thereafter, on-site registration is $50. The fee includes all sessions, a lunch on Feb. 18 and a networking reception. To register and view the two-day agenda, click on tti.tamu.edu/conferences/sbb08/

The event is co-hosted by TAMIU’s Small Business Development Center and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and provides a strategic partnering opportunity for the small business community to learn more about business development and contracting opportunities available with City, State and Federal Agencies.

Laura Rea, TAMIU director of purchasing, said the University is proud to join TxDOT in the initiative.

“We are keenly interested in meeting potential new partners that we as a State agency can do business with to help us provide supplies and service to Texas A&M International University. These Conferences offer an ideal opportunity for interested businesses to learn how they can best work with agencies like TAMIU and develop their businesses further,” Rea said.
