TAMIU Organ Recital Features Guest Yang Sunday

Music by J.S. Bach and César Franck are just some of the selections on the program for the next installment of the Texas A&M International University 2009 Organ Recital Series on Sunday, March 8 at 4 p.m. in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Younjung Yang, featured organist, will also perform music by Dietrich Buxtehude, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Charles-Marie Widor and Jeanne Demessieux.

Yang has performed recitals in Korea and in the Austin area. She has accompanied the University of Texas Choral Arts Society and the UT Chamber Singers and been a recitalist for both groups as well. Yang currently serves as organist at Manchaca United Methodist Church.

She is currently working towards her Doctor of Musical Arts in organ performance at the University of Texas at Austin. Yang earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in organ performance from Ewha University, Seoul, South Korea, before coming to the United States in 2004.
