TAMIU Latin American Studies Celebration Ends Friday

Make plans to attend events celebrating Latin American Studies Week at Texas A&M International University now through Friday, April 17. All events are free and open to the public.

The events are sponsored by a Title V Grant from the U.S. Department of Education-International Studies and Foreign Language Program.

Thursday, April 16, 6:30 p.m., SC 236: “City of God” movie screening. In this R-rated film, two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro take different paths: one becomes a photographer and the other becomes a drug dealer.

Friday, April 17, 5 – 9 p.m., Casa Ortiz Courtyard: “Music and Poetry Reading Under the Stars” will feature Spanish Club members on guitar and vocals as well as poetry readings.
