Introduce your child to the wonders of the heavens and help them develop a love for science at the Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium “Look Up and See the Sky, Sesame Street Workshop,” scheduled for Saturday, June 20 from 1 – 3:30 p.m.

“This workshop will help nurture children’s curiosities about the sun, stars and moon and will open their eyes to the wonders of the sky. Children will discover that everyone everywhere shares the same sky as we watch and discuss ‘One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure,’ ” explained Laura C. Jimenez, associate director, LBV Planetarium.

Hands-on, fun-filled activities will help explain what makes day and night, explain the phases of the moon and craters on the moon’s surface and help discover and observe star patterns and stories from around the world, added Jimenez.

The Workshop is geared toward children four – six years old. Fee is $10 per child and parents are welcome to accompany their children, free of charge. Seating is limited.

To register, visit offices in the Lamar Bruni Vergara Science Center (LBVSC) 301 or call 326.2463. Registration forms are also available at tamiu.edu/planetarium
