TAMIU-SBDC Sets Management Certification Series July 15

The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) will kick off its Small Business Management Certificate ProgramWednesday, July 15, 2009.

The Small Business Management Program is designed for the aspiring entrepreneur or existing business owners. Its goal is to provide essential business tools. Program completion will enhance management skills and provide a good foundation for success.

Requirements for completing the program include:

A one-time enrollment fee of $35, attending the required eleven courses, completion of two online courses within six months of starting the program and scheduling an advising appointment with an SBDC-Certified Business Advisor.

Upon completion of the program, a reception will be held in honor of the participants. Each will receive a Certificate of Completion recognizing their accomplishment, and will earn a total of 37 hours or 3.7 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

The Small Business Management Program is valued at $230; those enrolling now will only pay the enrollment fee.

The first course of the program, “The Art of Starting a Business: Basic Business Essentials,” starts July 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at TAMIU’s Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall, room 116.
