Texas A&M International University will host a Freedom Walk on Friday, Sept. 11 on the campus’ front lawn to commemorate the tragic events of 2001 and honor the military for its continued service to the nation.

The Freedom Walk is being held in partnership with Operation Homefront of Texas and is sponsored by BMI Defense Systems.

Registration will open at 5:45 p.m. and ceremonies will begin at 6:15 p.m. There is no registration fee and all participants will receive a T-shirt while supplies last.

A short walk will begin at 6:45 p.m and end at TAMIU’s Lamar Bruni Vegara Memorial Garden with an invitation to attend either of two evening campus events: a concert at Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall or a men’s soccer game at Dustdevil Field.
