TAMIU Hosts College Night Wednesday, Oct. 28

Representatives from more than 50 university and college representatives will be at Texas A&M International University for Laredo College Night, Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Student Center (SC).

Admission is free and open to the public. Students interested in pursuing higher education are highly encouraged to attend.

“The students will have the opportunity to meet representatives from local, state and national institutions which will be promoting their schools, programs ands services. High school seniors should not miss this once a year event,” said Juan G. Garcia Jr., associate director, Office of Recruitment and School Relations.

Students should contact their respective high school counselors for more information.

“These types of events take place in all regions of the state. According to guest college and university representatives, this is one of the most successful ones,” said Garcia.

He added that about 1,500 participants from Laredo, Zapata, Cotulla and other nearby cities attended last year.

Participating universities and colleges include:

ACT, Inc., Angelo State University, COSTEP, East Texas Baptist University, ITT Tech, Jarvis Christian College, Johnson & Wales University, Laredo Beauty College, Laredo Community College, Our Lady of Corpus Christi, Our Lady of the Lake University, Schreiner University, Sul Ross State University, Texas A&M University at Galveston, Texas A&M University College Station, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and TAMIU.

Also attending will be representatives from Texas Lutheran University, Texas State University, Texas Tech University, University of Texas at Arlington, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, University of Houston, University of Houston-Victoria, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, University of North Texas, University of St. James, University of Texas at Austin, University of the Incarnate Word, UT Health Sciences Center San Antonio, University of Texas – Pan American, University of Texas – Permian Basin, Western Technological College, and Yale University.
