TAMIU Fall Dance Concert Scheduled for Nov. 20 and 21

Dance enthusiasts now have two opportunities to enjoy the annual Texas A&M International University Fall Dance Concert. The performance is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre.

Admission is $5 per person and free for children 10 and under.

Proceeds benefit the dance program.

The Concert features works from the jazz and ballet classes, modern performance troupe and student works by concert choreography students.

The jazz class, under the direction of Sandra Leal, adjunct instructor of dance, will perform "Envy."

The ballet and modern classes, directed by Dr. Alison Bory, visiting assistant professor of dance, will perform "1969," "The minor fall, the major life," "Pinwheels and Rubber Bands," and "Them and Variations."

Flamenco students, directed by Bede Leyendecker, chair, Department of Fine and Performing Arts, will perform "Tangos de Ole," "Doña Francisquita," "La Boda de Luis Alonzo," and "Zambra."

Student works include: "All That Jazz" and "The Forbidden Dance" by Griselda Dozal, "Give It Up to Me" by Amy Correar, "The Voice Within" by Mayra García, and "The Storm" by Elizabeth Flores.
