Texas A&M International University’s Western Hemispheric Trade Center will be the site for the Sixth Annual KLRN Laredo Women’s Health Conference on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010.

The annual Conference gives women the opportunity to take a day to focus on their own health and well-being and through the years has become a popular opportunity for women to get health screenings, participate in breakout sessions that cover an array of topics, a healthy breakfast and a formal lunch. In addition, participants receive a bag full of goodies.

The Conference theme is “Small Steps, Big Changes.” Tickets are $30 and can be secured by calling ticket 800.627.8193 or visiting klrn.org/womenshealth. Tickets can also be purchased at Doctors Hospital of Laredo, the Laredo Medical Center and TAMIU’s Dr. F. M. Canseco School of Nursing.

Nationally known presenter Eleanor Pella will provide the Conference Keynote address. A registered dietician for over 25 years, her presentations cover everything from using food to create optimal health to her list of “food rules” or even discussing “diabesity,” all delivered in humorous, unique and entertaining ways.

Pella, RD, MS, LDN also offers expertise in Cancer Support, Diabetes, Heart Health, Nutrition, Weight Control, Women’s Health and Women’s Wellness.

The Conference is presented in partnership with TAMIU and sponsored by the Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust, Doctors Hospital and Laredo Medical Center.
