Amazing music, including an arrangement by a Texas A&M International University student, will fill the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Recital Hall during “An ‘Incredible’ Concert” by the TAMIU Wind Ensemble and Jazz Big Band Sunday, March 7 at 7 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public.

“Interest in our jazz big band has been a major factor in the rapid growth in both numbers and quality,” said Dr. David Manuel García, TAMIU director of bands.

The bands have increased from nine members to more than 40 in one semester.

The all-American “Pops” program includes an arrangement by TAMIU student Gabriel Vázquez of music from the video game “Final Fantasy,” music from the movies “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Incredibles,” and traditional paso dobles.

“The jazz big band will perform standards such as ‘Take the A Train,’ ‘Malaguena’ and will also feature singers in tunes such as ‘Fever’ and ‘Orange Colored Sky,’ added García.
