Portrait Exhibit Opens at TAMIU March 4

The next art exhibit at the Texas A&M International University Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Gallery invites art aficionados to take a different approach to appreciating art. “Real Portraits: Photographs” by Tim Tracz opens Thursday, March 4 at the CFPA Gallery, but the closing reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 8 from 5 – 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Tracz is a professor of art at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and has shown his work all over the country. Selected exhibitions include “Texas Tall Tales” in Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery in Dallas; “Art in the Metroplex” at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth; “Art Imitates Art” at Houston Center for Photography and a solo exhibition in the Galveston Art Center.

His work is also represented in the permanent collection of the Glaxo - SmithKline and The Westinghouse Electric Corporate Collections, The McNeese State University, The State University of New York at Potsdam, The Erie Art Museum, The Allentown Art Museum, The Art Museum, University of Oregon, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Fine Arts Museum of Houston.

He received his M.F.A. from Tyler School of Art and a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University.
