This month, Texas A&M International University’s Recreational Sports Center is offering Dustdevil Boot Camp, an intense two-week workout that will run from 10 to 11 a.m. April 20, 27, and 29 at the TAMIU Rec Center.

The camp is free and open to the TAMIU students and Rec members. Clearance from a doctor/physician is required to participate.

The workout is a combination of strength conditioning, resistance and cardiovascular training. Dustdevil Boot Camp involves a teamwork environment, with classes ranging from 15 to 20 people. The group ‘s motivational push should challenge participants’ spirit.

“Participants should be motivated to better themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually,” said Aaron Garza, strength and conditioning specialist, recreational sports.

Benefits of completing the Dustdevil Boot Camp include an increase in self-esteem, feeling fit, and mental confidence. Attending every class is the goal, said Garza, “If you can accomplish this class, you can accomplish any workout routine.”
