TAMIU Employees Benefit from Enrichment Day May 21

Texas A&M International University employees will spend the day at the University’s annual TAMIU Enrichment Day Friday, May 21, starting at 7:45 a.m.

University offices will remain open, but staff and services will be greatly reduced.

Employees will hear from two speakers in the morning and attend informative sessions in the afternoon. The Employee Service Awards and Outstanding Employee Awards will also be handed out.

Keynote speaker Dr. Beverly Chiodo, an award-winning inspiring speaker also known as the “Doctor of Encouragement,” will present “Character-Driven Success.” Her presentation will give employees new perspectives on how to motivate others to excellence.

Dr. Chiodo has received state and national recognition for her teaching including National Business Teacher for 1997 by the National Business Education Association. She was also selected “Hero of the Day” on the CBS national TV program, “This Morning.” Chiodo is a professor in the department of Management at Texas State University in San Marcos.

The second speaker, Jim Kauffman, will present “Leadership in Safety,” a look at the most important issues for environmental, health, and safety program development and improvement.

All full-time employees will attend smaller afternoon presentations covering topics from foster children in Webb County, refresher courses for University computer programs and an introduction to TAMIU’s social media presence.
