The Session is aimed at those with a degree or minor in math or science who are interested in becoming math or science teachers. It is offered by TAMIU’s College of Education Alternative Certification Program.

Students are required to have at least 24 upper-level courses in math or science and a 2.7 grade point average.

“TAMIU offers incentives such as tuition reimbursement and a signing bonus through its Mid-Career Grant. Local district salaries start at $42,500,” Kelley mentioned.

“People with math and science degrees are getting hired in as little as two weeks!” she exclaimed.
