With temperatures no longer hovering over 100 degree daily, it’s finally time to welcome fall. Have your child learn about “Fall” at this week’s “Saturday Story Hour” offered by the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Teachers’ Club at the Laredo Public Library, main branch, 1120 East Calton Road, Saturday, Sept. 25 from 2 – 3 p.m.

This free weekly program is aimed at children ages three – eight. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Through “Story Hour,” the Club plans to introduce children to the pleasure of stories, create excitement about books and reading and encourage a lifelong love for books and literature while exploring a different theme.

The theme for Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, is “Snoopy ‘Peanuts.’ ”

Dual Language Club readers will also be able to provide a story time experience that includes language support for children who speak English as a second language.

Children’s librarians will help share their expertise and help select age appropriate books for Club members to read.

The Club also receives support from its faculty advisor, Dr. Sandra Garrett, assistant professor of curriculum and instruction.
