‘Wicked Wellness Week’ Encourages Healthy Students

The two-day enternational University Wicked Wellness Week starting Tuesday, Oct. 26 with “How the Health Are You?” and ending with the popular “Halloween Oksoberfest” Thursday, Oct. 28.

Most events are limited to TAMIU Students, but “Halloween Oksoberfest” is open to the public.

“Wicked Wellness Week is three days full of activities for TAMIU students designed to bring awareness about staying healthy and making the right choices,” explained Miguel Treviño, associate director, Office of Student Affairs.

The Campus Activity Board (CAB), Student Counseling and Health Services, Recreational Sports and the Office of Student Affairs sponsor the events.

The schedule is a follows:

Tuesday, Oct. 26, Student Center Rotunda from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., “How the Health Are You?”: Students can expect to learn how to stay healthy, health screenings, tips on maintaining a healthy weight, advice on relationships, deal with stress and anxiety and more.

Wednesday, Oct. 27, Student Health Services in Student Center 125 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., “Haunted House of Health Horrors”: Shows students what to expect when they make the wrong choices in life.

Thursday, Oct. 28, Student Center patio, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., “Halloween Oksoberfest”: Features performances by the TAMIU Dance Club, Finley Elementary and a variety of booths for young and old alike.
