The Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) wants to know what you think about how the LPO could improve its concerts, raise attendance and reach a wider audience.

Brendan Townsend, the LPO music director and conductor, said that the LPO is hopeful that a concise online survey will help it to glean insight from its audiences.

“Like any performing body, we want to know how we’re doing, what we could do better and what people would like to see from their city’s Orchestra,” Townsend said.

“We have an incredibly talented group of musicians and an appreciative audience at all our concerts, but we’d like to expand that audience by reaching out to hear from those that may not attend our performance or attend infrequently. By learning more about what they might like to see from their LPO, we hope to design our subsequent programs accordingly,” he said.

The survey is available at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MY28WLJ

“We encourage all to please take a moment to provide feedback about our concerts. It will only take a moment of your time, and will greatly improve our offerings to the community. Also, feel free to forward this survey to your friends and email lists in Laredo. The more answers we get, the better the feedback,” he concluded.

The LPO’s next performance, “Singing the Blues,” features the music of Gershwin and Donizetti and takes place this Sunday, Jan. 23 at 3:00 p.m. at the Martinez Fine Arts Center at Laredo Community College.
