TAMIU-SBDC Starts Management Certification Program Jan. 19

The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) will kick off its Small Business Management Certificate Program Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011. 

The Small Business Management Program is designed for the aspiring entrepreneur or existing business owners. Its goal is to provide essential business tools.  Program completion will enhance management skills and provide a good foundation for success.

Topics include: the Art of Starting a Business, Anatomy of a Business Plan, Managing Cash, Getting Started in Government Contracting, QuickBooks, Customer Service, Developing and Marketing your Website and Legal Issues for Micro-Entrepreneurs. Valued at $200, those enrolling now pay only the enrollment fee.

Requirements for completing the program include:  A one-time enrollment fee of $35, attending the required eight courses, completion of two on-line courses, attending a Goal Planning Session and an advising session with an SBDC-Certified Business Advisor.

Upon completion of the program, a reception will be held in honor of the participants. Each will receive an Award Plaque recognizing their accomplishment, and will earn a total of 26 hours or 2.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
