Graduate students at Texas A&M International University have a new one stop shop for all things related to graduate study:  the Office of Graduate Studies and Research (OGSR).

The OGSR recently completed its move to a new location in the Student Center, room 124.  The move has also made it possible to better coordinate all aspects of TAMIU graduate admissions, said Dr. Jeffrey M. Brown, dean of graduate studies and research.

“This move, in addition to placing us into the larger Student Center, helps us to marshal all our forces in one place to more effectively recruit, admit and assist graduate students. Those interested in any graduate program at the University will be able to get program information, apply, be advised and also find out about financial assistance for graduate students offered through the Lamar Bruni Vergara Educational Endowment,” Dr. Brown explained.

The University offers masters programs in the humanities, business, education, physical, biological, and social sciences and health professions, in addition to a strong doctoral program in International Business. It also offers collaborative doctoral programs in Hispanic Studies, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration and cooperative Ph.D.in English. TAMIU offers over 25 masters degree programs.

Brown noted that the OGSR will host an Open House, Tuesday, April 26 in the Student Center Ballroom.

“This would be a great opportunity for those interested in TAMIU graduate programs to speak one-on-one with faculty about their prospective program, and learn more about the graduate admissions process and financial aid,” he said.

The OGSR web site, tamiu.edu/gradschool/, includes information for potential students, online program brochures and application access, financial aid information and The TAMIU Graduate Monitor, a Journal of Graduate Studies.
