Texas A&M International University’s Kinesiology, Wellness and Recreation Center is offering its Summer Recreational Sports Camp Monday, June 6-23 (Session I) and July 5-21 (Session II), from 7:45 a.m. – noon, for children ages 6-13.

Registrations are still being accepted for both camps.

The Camp is designed to help children develop a social, physical and health-conscious attitude in a fun and positive atmosphere, said Juan Garza, director of Recreational Sports.

“A typical day at Camp will consist of activities that include character education discussions, recreational games and fitness activities,” Garza said, “Plus, campers will have the opportunity to utilize the amazing TAMIU recreational facilities.”

Snacks will be provided daily and children should arrive each day ready to participate with the appropriate footwear (sneakers or tennis shoes –no sandals or flip-flops), sports attire (shorts and T-shirt), bug spray, sunscreen and a cap for outdoor activities, Garza said.

“In case of inclement weather, Camp will continue indoors,” Garza said.

The cost per session is $210 per child for the general community.

Those interested in participating in the Camp may register in person at the TAMIUKinesiology, Wellness and Recreation Center (KWRC) second floor, room 208 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
