TAMIU Ranked by US News and World Report

Texas A&M International University has been ranked by US News and World Report in its 2012 Best Colleges Rankings.

TAMIU president Dr. Ray Keck said while the University is honored by the recognition programs delivered by its gifted faculty have been accorded, he’s looking forward to even greater excellence.

It is tremendous to have our faculty’s efforts on behalf of our students recognized, but we are committed to continued and greater excellence still. Our students are the primary beneficiary of this excellence and it is for them that we dedicate our daily work,” Dr. Keck said.

TAMIU was ranked 24 in the Top Public Schools (Regional Universities West) category.

According to the Report, those included are the highest ranked public colleges and universities in the 2012 Best Colleges rankings, listed according to their ranking category and divided by geographic area of country.

TAMIU was also ranked 71 among regional universities (West). Regional universities are those offering a full range of undergrad programs, master's programs and a few doctoral programs.

TAMIU’s graduate nursing program was also ranked 127 among 442 surveyed. Graduate nursing programs like TAMIU’s prepare nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists to perform a full range of health services including geriatrics, nutrition, and women's health.

TAMIU’s A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business was included in the Best Undergraduate Business Programs category, ranking at 261 among 343 institutions surveyed. Undergrad business program ranking was based solely on a Spring 2011 peer assessment survey only for accredited Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business programs like the Sanchez School.
