TAMIU Offers SAT, GRE Test Prep Courses This Month

Texas A&M International University’s Office of Continuing Education is offering SAT and GRE tests preparation courses this month at a reduced price.

Tuition for each course is $250, and the application deadline for the SAT course is Sept. 14 while the GRE Course is Sept. 21.

The SAT Live Prep Course, offered Sept. 17 – Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon, prepares high school sophomores, juniors and seniors for all three sections of the SAT test including critical reading, math and writing, said Kimberly Martin del Campo, TAMIU Continuing Education program coordinator.  Students will take official SAT tests as diagnostic assessments to determine predictive scores, she added.

The SAT course textbook includes test strategies, quizzes, upper quartile problems and four-full-length practice tests with explained answers, Martin del Campo said.

The GRE Live Prep Course, offered Sept. 24 – Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., provides students the preparation needed to score their best on the GRE test, Martin del Campo said. Students complete a pre-and post-diagnostic test, which is assessed by Cambridge Educational Services.

A book loan program is available for the GRE and SAT Live Prep Courses. Students will be given the book on the day of the pre-test and it will be collected during the post test. Students will pay for the book if not returned. Students will have the option to purchase the book for an additional fee when they register for the course, Martin del Campo said.
