TAMIU, LCC Mixed Choir Christmas Concert Nov. 30

Give yourself a treat and make plans to attend the Texas A&M International University Chamber Singers and the Laredo Community College Mixed Choir Christmas Concert Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cantú Veterans Memorial Chapel on the LCC main campus downtown.

Admission is free and open to the public.

“This program of choral Christmas favorites will joyfully bring listeners into the holiday season,” said Dana Crabtree, TAMIU instructor of voice and music and Chamber Singers director.

“Highlights from the program include ‘Veni, veni Emmanuel’ and ‘Adeste Fideles,’ selections from Francis Poulenc’s ‘Quatre motets pour le temps de Noël,’ ‘Fum, Fum, Fum,’ ‘Do You Hear What I Hear,?’ Alfred Burt’s beloved ‘Caroling, Caroling’ and ‘We’ll Dress the House,’ William Adams’ a cappella arrangements of ‘What Child is This?,’ ‘Carol of the Bells,’ and ‘Silent Night,’ and the comic classics ‘Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer’ and ‘The Twelve Days After Christmas,’ ” noted Crabtree.

The combined choirs will also welcome guest singers under the direction of Celia Hernández from Laredo Independent School District’s Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts.

Pianist Martha Saywell will also join the choir for selected pieces.
