If you are interested in attending graduate school, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) offers more than 21 graduate academic programs in the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Education, Nursing and Health Sciences and the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business.

The University’s Graduate Studies Open House will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom for those who need more information on how to apply for University admission or would like to apply on site. The event is free and open to the public.

Suzanne Alford, director of Graduate Recruiting for the Office of Graduate Studies and Research, said financial assistance for graduate students is available and that Lamar Bruni Vergara Educational Assistance representatives will be present at the Open House to answer prospective students’ questions. The event will also be an opportunity to get information on scholarships, fellowships and assistantships available from the LBV Educational Fund, she added.

Adults with a master’s degree or higher can earn an annual salary four times more than those with less than a high school diploma said Alford, citing U.S. Census figures.

“A graduate degree can improve one’s chances of earning a higher salary and this is the chance for those considering furthering their careers to make the first step,” Alford said, “We encourage everyone who is considering applying for graduate school for the Spring semester to attend the Open House and become powered by the possibilities that exist at TAMIU,” Alford said.

Spring admissions deadline is Nov. 30, Alford said.
