The advantages of nearshoring in Mexico vs. Asia will be explored in a special lecture Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Texas A&M International University at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. Admission is free of charge and open to the public.

Unlike offshoring, moving work to a foreign, distant location; nearshoring advocates the transfer of work nearby, as in a nearby country often sharing a border or geographic proximity, as do the United States and Mexico.

Russell Dillion, vice president of AlixPartners of Dallas, will present  “Back to the Americas: Nearshoring in Mexico vs. Asia” for the sponsoring International Bank of Commerce 2011-2012 Keynote Speaker Series, hosted by TAMIU’s A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business and the Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade.

A reception at 7 p.m. will precede the lecture.
