TAMIU National Juried Art Exhibition, Reception Opening March 8

The first National Juried Exhibition at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Gallery is scheduled to open with a reception Thursday, March 8 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The show includes painting, sculptures, new media, print, photographs and ceramics.

Show juror was Bruce Herlander, former provost and vice president for academic affairs at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design.

Herlander, a well-known curator and critic, is also an artist specializing in collage and assemblage. He is a fellow of the National Endowment for the Arts and recently won the South Florida Cultural Consortium fellowship for professional achievement in the visual arts.

The exhibit will be on display through April 6.

The Gallery is open Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and by appointment.
