TAMIU SBDC Offers March Business Workshops

The Texas A&M International University Small Business Development Center (TAMIU-SBDC) will sponsor several workshops throughout March.
The remaining workshops are scheduled:

Wednesday, March 21: Anatomy of a Business Plan Workshop is from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. at the TAMIU Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 126. Fee for the seminar is $20, and each participant receives Linda Pinzon’s “Anatomy of a Business Plan: a Step-by-Step Guide to Building a Business and Securing your Company’s Future,” a $50 value. Instructor Angelo Piccirillo explains that planning is the map to success in the business world. One needs to write a business plan when: starting or buying a business, financing or refinancing a business, or raising debt or equity capital.

Wednesday, March 21: Customer Service: a Key to Business Success (Zapata, TX), scheduled from 9:30 to 12:00 noon at the Zapata County Courthouse, suite 248. Fee for the seminar is $20. Customer service is one of the greatest keys to your business success. It can literally make or break a business. This is so because all business, marketing, sales and profits depend on customers. People are in business to generate profits by selling products and services to people who need and want to buy. Join Instructor Yael Rodríguez, certified rural business advisor for an interactive two-hour presentation.

Friday, March 23: Internet Marketing Workshop will be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, classroom location will be provided with registration confirmation. This hands-on workshop spans the entire process of building a simple website from the ground up, with plenty of pointers and reference material. Alejandro Quetzeri will lead the workshop covering traditional marketing versus internet marketing; basics of internet marketing, web analytics, search engine optimization, social media and pay per click – sponsor ads.

Tuesday, March 27: Understanding Credit & Budgeting Workshop will be offered from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., classroom location will be provided with registration confirmation. Certified business advisor Tina Rodriguez will go over the Credit Reporting Myths; Disputing Inaccuracies; Rebuilding Credit; and Debt Management. Join us for this free informative workshop.

Thursday, March 29: Getting Started in Federal Contracting will be offered from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Student Center, room 120. Are you winning contracts? Making a profit? Generating positive cash flow? Our expert consultants provide support to your small business in marketing, accounting, finances, and personnel, so you can win contracts, make a profit, and generate cash flow -- all at the same time. Join us for a free informative seminar that will help your small business gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. Topics to be discussed include: How the TAMIU-SBDC can help your business; Steps towards becoming a Federal Contractor; Registrations and Certifications; Marketing to the Federal Government; Federal Contracting Opportunities; and Veterans Assistance and Services Program.
