Ballet Folklórico Festival This Weekend at TAMIU

A remarkable opportunity to see traditional folkloric dance in action happens this weekend at Texas A&M International University with the 2012 Ballet Folklórico Festival and Concert Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 24, also at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre.

Admission is free of charge and open to the public.

Performing groups include the Texas A&M International University Ballet Folklórico and Ballet Folklórico Juvenil, the Edgewood Fine Arts Academy School, the Ballet Folklórico Viva México and Los Fresnos High School.

The evening performances will include selections from the Mexican states of Veracruz, Colima, Baja California, Sinaloa and Veracruz and the Distrito Federal (Mexico City). All performances will be in traditional costume.
