Author Herschap Lectures at TAMIU March 22

Heather Herschap, author of a children’s book that focuses on diversity and human kindness, “My Friends and I,” will lecture at Texas A&M International University Thursday, March 22.

Herschap’s appearance is part of the “Voices in the Monte Speaker’s Series” hosted by the TAMIU Writing Center.

She will offer a Reading and Talk on Craft at 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. respectively in the TAMIU Writing Center in Dr. Billy F. Cowart Hall, room 203.

There is no admission fee and the public is welcome to attend.

In addition to her reading, Herschap will discuss her writing process and address the challenges she has had to overcome since being diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Herschap holds a Master of Divinity from Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary, is a native of Laredo and a graduate of Alexander High School. She has done voluntary mission work in India.

She spends much of her time volunteering at local churches as well as traveling across the country as a lecturer. Herschap also oversees work with youth and disabled communities and strives to encourage the acceptance of others by recognizing inner beauty.
