19 student artists will present their senior work at Texas A&M International University Thursday, April 26 at 6 p.m. with an opening reception in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts Gallery.

The exhibition, dubbed “Dynamic 19,” showcases drawings, paintings, photos, prints, ceramics, sculpture, and new media created by senior TAMIU students. Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to talk to the artists and discuss their work.

Gallery admission is free and open to the public, but some work may not be suitable for children. The exhibit will continue through May 5.

Students with works in the exhibition are Aida Benavides, Evangelina Benedetto, Enrique E. Botello, Nicole R. Buitron, Gabriela I. Calderon, Keyla A. Camacho, Olivia M. De La Garza, Liben Fisher, Lourdes A. Garza, Cristina Granados, Ricardo A. Guerrero, Rebecca V. Isaak, Christopher A. Jarrell, Jason J. Martínez, Cruz Pisano, Belinda Ramos, Martha B. Rios, Anna A. Salinas and Monika Sánchez.

Alma Haertlein, TAMIU associate professor of art, said the exhibition offers an impressive experience.

“We are very pleased with the broad spectrum of mediums and the impressive talent that our students have demonstrated with this exhibition.  We would encourage all to attend and experience their artistry. Their work investigates a wide range of subjects from quiet personal relationships with their families, the beauty of nature, to broader social issues of human sexuality and gender stereotypes. The students’ artwork uses traditional media such as painting, pastels, watercolors and ceramics but many pieces also explore installation art, ” Haertlein explained.
