On Friday, students across the state may look much more alike than usual.

Friday, May 4 is Generation TX Day, an opportunity for students to affirm their belief in higher education by wearing their favorite college T-shirt.

Siobhan Rosales, Texas A&M International University associate director and a local coordinator for GenTx Day, said the event has the power to send a strong, unified message across the state.

"GenTX Day celebrates and congratulates the students of Generation TX—especially this year’s graduating seniors—on their journey toward higher education. As students take their next steps toward realizing their futures, communities across Texas are coming together to applaud their success and support them as they prepare to go to college and begin career training," Rosales said.

Participation in GenTX Day is easy…simply wear your favorite college T-shirt, she noted.

"Imagine how powerful the message would be if every person across Texas wore a college T-shirt on GenTX Day—united in their belief in higher education," Rosales observed.
