TAMIU LBV Planetarium Provides Summer Escape

Escape the hot weather and take in a full-length animated feature film with your family or explore ancient worlds, the future and outer space or take a date to experience a classic rock album like never before at the Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium this summer.

The LBV Planetarium runs shows Wednesdays and Saturdays in June. General admission for shows on Wednesdays is $3. Admission for children, TAMIU students, faculty and staff is $4 and $5 for adults on Saturdays and $1 more for premium shows.

The full-length computer animated feature, “Despicable Me,” is scheduled to run during the popular favorite, “Family Movie Day,” Saturday, June 23 at noon, 2, 4, and 6 p.m. General admission is $3.

Among shows scheduled for June are: “Force 5,” “Secrets of the Sun,” “One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure,” “2012: Ancient Skies Ancient Mysteries,” Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon,” “The Future is Wild,” “Wonders of the Universe,” “The Zula Patrol: Under the Weather,” “New Horizons,” “Two Small Pieces of Glass: The Amazing Telescope.”
