Texas A&M International University’s Kinesiology, Wellness and Recreational Sports Center (Rec Sports) and Housing and Residential Life is offering Aqua Zumba classes this summer.

Classes are open to the University community and the general public. . They will be conducted at the Residential Learning Community (RLC) Mondays at 6:30 p.m. through July 9  and Thursdays through July 12.

Cost is $20 for TAMIU enrolled students and Rec Sports members and $40 for non-members.

Rec Sports membership is not required for Aqua Zumba class participation. However, non-members will not be able to access Rec Sports facilities after class.

Known as the Zumba “pool party,” Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends all into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio conditioning, body-toning and most of all, exhilarating, creators say.
