LTGI’s “Cinderella” Bows at TAMIU

The Laredo Theatre Guild International (LTGI) summer presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic musical “Cinderella” is now being presented at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).

The beloved musical is offered in cooperation with TAMIU and bows Thursday, July 12, running daily through Sunday, July 22. Weekday and Saturday performance times are at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. No performance is scheduled Monday, July 16.

Tickets are $20 general admission, $10 for students and seniors (65+) with valid ID with a special discounted rate of $5 for children 10 years of age and under. Tickets are now available at Foster's, located at 1202 Del Mar Boulevard, Suite 101; Blue Top, 101 Hillside Road, no. 11; the TAMIU Bookstore and at the box office one hour prior to each show.

Leading the cast is Alexander High School senior Kristelle Martin in the title role and recent TAMIU graduate Ricardo Holguin as the Prince. They join husband and wife Joe and Dana Crabtree as King and Queen while Melissa Barrera Gonzalez is the wicked stepmother.

In the classic theater tradition of men playing women for heightened comedic effect, Joshua Goldberg and Alejandro Lopez play Cinderella’s two wicked stepsisters. Other cast members include Jan Mora as the fairy godmother; John Maxstadt as the herald, and Mark Garner, Andres Regalado, Karen Mejia, Isaac Garza, Joseph Pomar, Jack Paul, Martin Vela, Nicolle Figueroa, Rebecca Arias and Sofia Alonzo.

Also, Edna Garcia, Aurora Munoz, Alison Hinojosa, Maya Tijerina, Olivia Glass, Amanda Trevino, Lisa Martinez, Ayesha McCauley, Sarah Mejia, Marc Antonio Vela, Jose Morales, Anny Rodriguez, Nikola Bonillas, Manuel Morales lll, Christina Limon, Aaron Negrete, and Cynthia Garza.

“Cinderella” is produced by Joe Arciniega and directed by Veronica Ramirez with Vernon Carroll as advisory director and technical advisor. Musical director and conductor of the live orchestra is Brendan Townsend, with choreography by Cristina Greco.
