Texas A&M International University faculty are well thought of by their students, who nominated 15 TAMIU faculty members for The Texas A&M University System’s Student Recognition Awards for Teaching Excellence.

The Awards are based on voluntary student nominations and were created in 2008 to recognize excellence in classroom teaching at all 11 campuses within the A&M System. Recipients are provided with cash awards from $2,000-$4,000.

Dr. Pablo Arenaz, TAMIU provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, said the Awards are especially meaningful because they reflect student impressions.

“We take great pride in our gifted and dedicated faculty, and so we are especially encouraged when students assess our faculty and ask that we recognize them for their teaching excellence. I salute these faculty and all our faculty for their tireless dedication to student success,” Dr. Arenaz said.

TAMIU Faculty members receiving the Awards are: Dr. Anna Cieslicka, assistant professor, College of Arts and Sciences; Jeanne Dunn, instructor, College of Arts and Sciences; Angelica Estrada, adjunct instructor, College of Education; Dr. Michael R.
