TAMIU Partners with Strategic Marketing Affiliates

College Station  – The Texas A&M University System is pleased to announce Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) recent agreement with Strategic Marketing Affiliates (SMA) to manage its domestic U.S. trademark licensing program. The new partnership will provide TAMIU with access to SMA’s brand development, protection and revenue generation services. The licensing program, which started on July 1, 2012, will enhance the institution’s brand recognition and increase the availability of licensed merchandise.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to represent Texas A&M International University in its trademark licensing interests,” said Robert Bernard, president/CEO of Strategic Marketing Affiliates, Inc.,  “Our company and the Texas A&M System share the same goals and objectives for its licensing programs.  We are looking forward to implementing some really special programs for the members of the Texas A&M System.”

With the addition of TAMIU, SMA now represents 10 universities within the Texas A&M System.  These universities include Prairie View A&M University, Tarleton State University, Texas A&M University-Central Texas, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas A&M University-San Antonio, Texas A&M University-Texarkana, and West Texas A&M University.

SMA also manages the trademark licensing programs for the Texas A&M Health Science Center as well as the Texas A&M System’s seven state agencies: Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, Texas A&M Forest Service, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory, and Texas A&M Transportation Institute.
