Texas A&M International University's current art exhibit, "Golden Kite, Golden Dreams,” should appeal to young children and provide parents with a colorful way to introduce or continue to stimulate art interests.

The exhibit, at TAMIU’s Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Gallery, is free and open to the public.  It will be on display through Nov. 18.

The “Golden Kite, Golden Dream” exhibit is part of a tour around the U.S. It features a retrospective of award-winning illustrations across a 40-year period.

The Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators present the Golden Kite Awards annually to recognize excellence in children’s literature in four categories: fiction, non-fiction, picture book text and picture book illustration.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Thursday or by appointment.

For more information or to arrange a group visit, contact Bede Leyendecker, chair, College of Arts and Sciences Fine and Performing Arts, at 956.326.2649.
