Eagle Ford Shale Stakeholders Summit at TAMIU Tuesday

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) will host a historic Eagle Ford Shale Stakeholders Summit, “Maximizing Resources through Regional Partnerships,” on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

“TAMIU is honored to be able to host this historic opportunity to dialogue on the profound resources of Eagle Ford Shale and how they can best be maximized through partnership,” said TAMIU president Dr. Keck.

Joining area legislators and leaders at the Summit are Dr. Richard Haut, Houston Advanced Research Center; Melisa D. Montemayor, Texas Department of Transportation; J. R. Reddish, S&B Infrastructure, and Dr. Thomas Tunstall, University of Texas at San Antonio Institute for Economic Development, and P.K. Carlton, MD from the Texas A&M Health Science Center, among others.

Legislators attending and participating in a panel include Senator Judith Zaffirini, Representative Richard Raymond, Representative Ryan Guillen and Representative Tracy King.  Among regional leadership representatives are Judge Jim Huff from Live Oaks County, Cotulla City Manager Larry Dovalina and Carrizo Springs Independent School District Superintendent Deborah Dobie.

The Summit is free of charge and open to the public.

Additional pre-Summit activities will include a special Summit Opening Evening Reception Monday, Oct. 22 and a pre-Summit Golf Round at the newly opened Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course. 

A Natural Gas Vehicle Exhibit will also be offered in cooperation and partnership with CenterPoint Energy, Chesapeake Energy and Lewis Energy.  La Posada Hotel has extended special Summit rates.
