The Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business is an outstanding business school, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company features the School in the new 2013 edition of its annual guidebook, "The Best 296 Business Schools" (Random House / Princeton Review).

The Sanchez School of Business is one of 60 schools that appear on one or more of the book's 11 ranking lists. It ranked number seven as a “Greatest Opportunity for Minority Students” and is also included in the listing of the 79 Best Business Schools (Southeast).

“It is an honor for the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business to be recognized again in the latest edition of the Princeton Review’s Best Business Schools,” said Dr. Steve Sears, dean of the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business, “While the School and Texas A&M International University are relatively young as educational institutions, both are growing in regional and national reputation.”

Dr. Sears said it is gratifying to see that students are pleased with the education they receive at the Sanchez Business School.

“While most of our students come from the region surrounding Laredo, our student population is increasingly becoming more diverse and comes from all over the world,” he said, “I feel that the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business fulfills the mission of the University by serving a group of largely first-generation students that previously did not have the educational opportunities that the School and University provide.”

According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review senior VP-Publisher, "We consider the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business one of the best institutions a student could attend to earn an MBA. We selected the schools we profile in this book – 280 of which are in the USA and 16 are international -- based on our high regard for their academic programs and our reviews of institutional data we collect from the schools. We also solicit and greatly respect the opinions of students attending these schools who rate and report on their experiences at them on our 80-question survey for the book.

"The Princeton Review's survey asked 19,000 students at the 296 schools their opinions of their school's academics, student body and campus life as well as about themselves and their career plans. The student surveys analyzed for this edition were all completed online and conducted during the 2011-12, 2010-11, and 2009-10 academic years.

"The Best 296 Business Schools" has two-page profiles of the schools, including information on academics, career and placement, student life and environment, and admissions.

In the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business profile, Review editors describe the school as: “an excellent learning environment in which to earn an accredited MBA.”

Some of the comments from students attending the Sanchez School of Business in the profile say that they enjoy friendly students, cutting-edge classes, happy students, and a solid preparation in finance, general management and teamwork.

Students surveyed said that the Sanchez School of Business is conveniently “located in an area with a strong international trade industry.”

The Sanchez School of Business has, according to one student concentrating in international trade, “a strong international business focus and faculty from diverse educational, professional and cultural backgrounds.” One student states, “Most of my fellow classmates are older and wiser with experience from different business backgrounds. It is very interesting to learn about their experiences. We get to hear about real-life scenarios and how they are handled or should have been handled.”
