Join Texas A&M International University and the worldwide celebration for International Education Week 2012 scheduled for Monday, Nov. 12 through Thursday, Nov. 15 in the TAMIU Student Center (SC).

All events are free and open to the TAMIU community.

“As a part of an effort to promote multiculturalism and diversity on campus, the Office of Student Affairs is joining the Department of State and the Department of Education in celebrating International Education Week,” said Triana González, associate director, Office of Student Affairs Study Abroad and Exchange Programs.

Students are highly encouraged to participate and get to know international students on campus, González stressed.

“Two events students should try to attend are the annual flag walk and Diwali: Festival of Lights,” she said.

During the flag walk, students walk around campus carrying a flag that represents their country.

For the Festival of Lights, participants can get a henna tattoo, have his or her name written in Hindi, listen to music, win prizes and sample Indian food.
