Earn your master’s degree in curriculum and instruction completely online from Texas A&M International University. The College of Education launched its Curriculum and Instruction Online Program for those who want to become master teachers, but need flexibility in their schedules.

“All courses are taught online, which means students can enroll from anywhere. Anyone with a bachelor’s degree who is interested in curriculum and instruction can enroll without having to be on campus physically,” said Dr. Jennifer Coronado, TAMIU associate professor, curriculum and instruction.

The Program got underway in the spring semester this year and at least two classes will be offered during each semester, including summer sessions

Students who enroll in the program will major in curriculum and instruction and minor in reading.

“This is for anyone who wants to enhance their teaching skills and gain expertise for the classroom,” Dr. Coronado said.

“The 36-hour Program offers flexibility, so students are able to complete the work when they are able, in particular students who may already be work working full-time,” Coronado added.

Students could complete their degree in as little as 2 years.

To enroll, apply at the TAMIU Office of Graduate Studies and Research at http://www.tamiu.edu/gradschool/programs.shtml

Suzanne Alford, TAMIU director of Graduate Recruiting, said that late application for graduate programs at TAMIU’s College of Education has been extended through Feb. 6, 2013.

Alford said financial assistance is also available for students pursuing College of Education programs.

“The Lamar Bruni Vergara Educational Fund, for example, provides scholarships, fellowships and assistantships,” she said, “There are also other scholarships and grants available through the Office of Financial Aid.”
