The top three candidates to become Texas A&M International University's (TAMIU) new Athletic Director begin visiting the campus this week.

All will participate in community forums during their campus visits, all to be held in the Kinesiology-Convocation Building (Gym).

Joseph Biedron, Associate Athletics Director for External Advancement, Texas A&M University – Kingsville, visits Thursday, April 25 at 3:15 p.m.

Edwin “Duke” Dickerson, Director, Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, Boehringer Ingelheim, visits Friday, May 3 at 3:15 p.m.

Gilbert “Griz” Zimmerman, Director of Athletics, Lake Erie College, comes to TAMIU Tuesday, May 7 at 3:15 p.m.

After the visits, the Search Committee, chaired by TAMIU vice president for Finance and Administration Juan J. Castillo, will provide its recommendation to TAMIU president Dr. Ray Keck.  The University hopes to make an offer in May and have the new Dustdevils AD join the University soon thereafter.

The new AD replaces retiring Dr. Leonard Nardone, TAMIU’s third AD for its 11-sport Athletics program.

Nardone joined TAMIU in 2010 after serving as associate dean for University Sports at the American University of Beirut.  He previously served as Athletics Director at State University of New York, Genesee, Sheldon Jackson College in Alaska and Philadelphia University.
