Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) presents the Annual Senior Art Exhibit, conFUSION, opening Thursday, April 25 with a reception from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Gallery.

The senior class’ artwork encompasses a variety of media and themes that have been refined through numerous class critiques, explained Alma Haertlein, TAMIU associate professor of art.

“Several artists are dealing with interesting concepts -- exploring process and asking questions about art such as what makes a painting a painting. Other students’ artwork investigates personal and social issues, both humorous and serious. There will be ceramics, cast sculptures, paintings, photography, watercolors and drawings, multi-media sculptures, extreme fashion creations, and performance art.,” Haertlein said.

Artists are: Ricardo Agredano, Eduardo Canales, Elizabeth Cardenas, Miriam V. Castro, Daniela Cavazos, Emily de los Cabos, Alejandra Garza, Angelica M. Gutíerrez, Perla Gutíerrez, Rebecca D. Leza, Jenesis K. Medina, Margaret A. Moncivais, Hugo L. Partida, Sonya M. San Miguel and Rebecca Swanson.

Gallery hours are 12 – 5 p.m., Monday – Thursday or by appointment. The exhibit will be on display through Thursday, May 4.
