Studies show that speaking two or more languages gives your brain a boost while learning a new language or culture. Start flexing your mind by signing up to learn conversational French, beginning German or English as a Second Language at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) International Language Institute (ILI) this fall.

Registration is currently underway in Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall, room 302. Classes start Monday, Aug. 26.

Prior admission to TAMIU is not required.

Conversational French meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 – 5:30 p.m.

Beginning German meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 – 5:30 p.m.

The ILI offers four types of ESL classes:

  • Intensive English Program (six levels, 8 weeks/level): a complete program designed for the student who is serious about learning English quickly. Meets in the morning.
  • Semi-intensive (six levels, 16 weeks/level): complete evening program is designed for the working student.
  • ESL Conversation: designed for the student who wants to develop fluency, increase vocabulary and improve pronunciation while actively participating in conversational topics. Various time schedules are available.
  • ESL Business English: designed for individuals who work in a business environment with emphasis placed on oral and written business communication at the intermediate to advanced ESL levels. Meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
