Support the arts and make plans to attend “A Very Short Summer Play” at the Texas A&M International University Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Sam Johnson Jr. Experimental Theatre, Thursday, Aug. 8 or Friday, Aug. 9.

Show times are at 7 and 8:30 p.m.

Admission is $5 and free with a valid TAMIU ID.

“A Very Short Play” features the works of Christopher Durang, David Ives and Cathy Celesia.

“Durang and Ives are two of the greats when it comes to the 10-minute play, and Celesia's unique writing style complements them nicely. These plays are not only good for training actors, but a lot of fun to watch as well. Together, these three short plays sure provide a fun evening of live theatre,” said Dr. Gilberto Martinez, instructor, communication and theater arts.

The plays include adult themes and are unsuitable for children under 13 years of age.

For more information, contact Dr. Martinez at 285.9783 or gilberto.martinez@tamiu.edu

University office hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Thursday and 8 a.m. – noon, Friday.

Additional information is also available on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and on the free TAMIU mobile app for smartphone and tablets.
