Area Students, Parents Invited to TAMIU Preview Day Saturday

Find out how you can discover the “International U” at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Saturday, Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. during the TAMIU Area Preview Day in the Student Center (SC).

Admission is free and open to prospective students—transfer students, high school students and their parents.

“Our Preview Day is designed to give prospective students a taste of what TAMIU has to offer. They will have the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt, obtain information on admission and financial aid, learn about Study Abroad opportunities and more,” said Scheiby Fisher, director, Office of Recruitment and School Relations.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. in the SC Theater.

The rest of the schedule is as follows:

             11:15 a.m.: Welcome Session, SC Theater

             11:30 a.m.: Becoming a Dustdevil, Bob Bullock Hall (BH) 101—freshmen; BH 103—transfer students; BH 104—college readiness for all students

              Noon: Dusty’s Diner (free)

              1 p.m.: Financial Aid 101, BH 118

              1:30 p.m.: Explore the Dusty Trail

              2 p.m.: Housing—Residential Learning Community

              2:45 p.m.: Various activities at various locations

              3 p.m.: Study abroad, SC 236

              3:30 p.m.: Student panel, SC 236

              4 p.m.: Pictures with Dusty; SC Rotunda

              4:30 p.m.: Closing

Future TAMIU Preview Days are scheduled Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, and Saturday, March 22, 2014.
