TAMIU Presents Spirit Week

Show your pride and spirit during the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Spring 2014 Spirit Week, Monday, Feb. 10 – Thursday, Feb. 13.

All events are free for TAMIU students with a valid ID and most events are free to the public.

Events include a shopping cart decorating party and parade, pep rally, tailgating and more.

Students will also have the opportunity to vote for Mr. and Ms. TAMIU. Voting will take place online at Voting will take place online at https://tamiu.collegiatelink.net/election/start/36799 Monday, Feb. 10, 12:01 a.m. – Wednesday, Feb. 12, 11:59 p.m.

Spirit Week kicks off with the Student Government Association (SGA) Shopping Cart Decorating Party from noon – 8 p.m. in the Student Center (SC) ballroom.

The rest of the schedule is as follows:

Monday, Feb. 10—Mr. and Ms. TAMIU elections begin. Students may vote in the SC rotunda, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. It is also Maroon Monday and students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear their favorite TAMIU gear.

Tuesday, Feb. 11—Election booth, SC rotunda, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.; SGA Shopping Cart Parade will depart the STC Rotunda, 12:30 p.m. and a pizza party will follow in the SC ballroom.

Wednesday, Feb. 12—Election booth, SC rotunda, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Campus Activities Board (CAB) Pep Rally, 11:30 a.m., SC rotunda; Mr. and Ms. TAMIU elections end.

Thursday, Feb. 13—Tailgate, 4 p.m., Kinesiology-Convocation Building (KCB) front lawn; Women’s Basketball game, 5:30 p.m., KCB; Men’s Basketball game, 7:30 p.m., KCB; Mr. and Ms. TAMIU coronations will take place after the Men’s game; CAB Spirit Week after party, 9:30 p.m.
