Take a glimpse into what “The Next America” will look like as presented by Paul Taylor, Pew Research Center Senior Fellow, at the first installment of the Texas A&M International University International Bank of Commerce 2014-2015 Keynote Speaker Series Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. in the TAMIU Student Center Ballroom at 7:30 p.m. A reception will start at 7 p.m.

Admission is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the TAMIU A.R. Sanchez Jr. School of Business’ Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade.

Translation services, from English to Spanish, will also be available.

Taylor is the author of “The Next America: Boomers, Millennials, and the Looming Generational Showdown.” The book explores the two unprecedented demographic changes currently underway simultaneously: the U.S. population is becoming majority non-white at the same time a record share is going gray. Those differences have created pressure on politics, family, entitlement programs and social cohesion.

The book is currently on sale at the TAMIU Bookstore. A book signing will follow the lecture.

Before helping launch the Pew Research Center, a non-partisan “fact tank,” Taylor served as president and board chairman of the Alliance for Better Campaigns. Prior to launching the Alliance, he was a newspaper reporter for 25 years.

He has a B.A. from Yale University.

This Speaker Series presents practical and targeted lectures imparted by distinguished leaders, recognized experts and outstanding scholars in the trade and business arenas.

It brings to the University individuals of exceptional accomplishment and expertise to enhance the academic experience of TAMIU students, faculty and the community.
