RAD Courses for Women Begin Tuesday at TAMIU

The first session of a basic self-defense techniques course for women will be begin Tuesday, November 4 at Texas A&M International University.

Women interested in learning basic self-defense techniques are invited to participate in R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) classes offered through TAMIU's Office of Continuing Education and University Police Department.

The women-only classes consist of a 12-hour program taught by nationally certified R.A.D. instructors. Course fee is $25.

Session 1 will be offered Nov. 4, 6, 11 and 13 (Tuesdays and Thursdays); Session 2 Dec. 8, 10, 15 and 17 (Mondays and Wednesdays); Session 3  Feb. 7, 14, 21, and 28 (Saturdays); and Session 4 April 14, 16, 21, and 23 (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Participants should be at least 13 years of age. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a female family member.
